Robert “Dickie” Gray, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away on Thursday May 25, 2017. Dickie was born on June 6, 1944 in Holyoke, MA and was the son of the late John Lewis Gray and Mary “Sarah” Lee McCorkle. Raised in Springfield, MA, he graduated from Commerce High School. Dickie served with honorable distinction in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from New Hampshire College and retired from the State of CT as a Correctional Counselor from Carl Robinson Corrections. Dickie is survived by his children: Robert C. Gray, Angela C. Gray, Andrea T. Gray, LaSal Jordan; his grandchildren: Chaunce D. Dunbar, Amaya M. Gamble; his sisters: Minnie Jackson, Justine Williams, M. Johnetta Gray; his devoted companion: Shirley Rogers-Gray; and a host of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his two brothers: George Gray, Eddie Gray. The family will receive family and friends on Friday June 2, 2017 at 10 AM for calling hours, with an 11 AM service at Hopewell Baptist Church, 280 Windsor Ave, Windsor, CT 06095.
