About	Corrina V. (Spinks) Houston, 71, of Springfield, MA, went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2017. Born in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Jesse Lee Spinks, Sr. and Maggie (Burge) Spinks on July 24, 1945. Raised in Springfield, MA, she was a 1964 graduate of Commerce High School going on to further her education at New Hampshire College, Springfield College and American International College. Corrina worked for Mercy Hospital as an LPN, and then went on to work as a Methadone Counselor with the Sisters of Providence until she retired in July 2010. Not one to stop, she went on to work part time as a Substance Abuse Counselor with Baystate Behavioral Health. Recently she began teaching Addictions Counselor Education at Westfield State University.Corrina was an active member of the community as well as her church, Third Baptist. She is survived by her only child, Leon Houston, III (Denise). She leaves her six grandchildren: Ken Houston, Rashaun Houston, Stephanie Wright, Jamael Wright-Houston, Bryan Bracey and Jair Houston as well as four great grandchildren, KevAhri Houston, Jayla Wright-Houston, RaNaia Ali-Houston and Shakur Wright-Houston. Corrina leaves three siblings: CV Wright, Jesse Lee Spinks, Jr. (Deloris), Alma Louise Spinks and her godsister, Annie Wiseman (Thomas). She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren and friends to honor her memory.Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Third Baptist Church, 149 Walnut Street, Springfield, MA at 11:30 am with visitation from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield, MA.
