About Jeanne M. Wroblewski, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Wingate of East Longmeadow, after a valiant twenty year battle with breast cancer. Born July 30, 1947, daughter of the late Stanley and Irene (Pankiewicz) Wroblewski, she was a lifelong Springfield resident. A graduate of the High School of Commerce, Class of 1965, and of Westfield State College, Jeanne retired in 2016 after nearly twenty years as a financial management specialist for the Springfield School Volunteers. Previously she worked at Package Machinery in East Longmeadow, and in her high school years at Forbes & Wallace in downtown Springfield. Jeanne was a member of the Hungry Hill Neighborhood Council, and taught English as a second language to Polish speaking adults. She was passionate about cars, reading, and all kinds of music. She looked forward to her TV shows and soapies, and feeding the backyard birds. Jeanne was well known for the annual Christmas preparation of her famous Chex Mix, and especially enjoyed babysitting her grandkitty, Charlie. Jeanne is survived by her beloved daughter, Barbara Jeanne and husband Jack Tashjian of Medford; her loving siblings, Gerry Wroblewski and his wife Pam of South Hadley, Diane Ford and her husband Alan of Boxboro, Bob Wroblewski and his wife Karen of Dracut, and Mary Wroblewski of Springfield; and three nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica, Chicopee. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7PM.
