Henderson Peterkin was a great friend who I first met in 1964 at Homer St. School when he came to this country from Barbados. We all miss him and his warm smile and kindness.

Henderson Peterkin who was my best friend and I met at Homer Street School in September or October 1964 when he moved here from Barbados with his father. Henderson and I became Fast Friends and even though we lost contact for some years we did reconnect in 1996 after he saw my mother working in her garden and got my address from her when I was living in Philadelphia. Henderson was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and when he found out that I was a Philadelphia Eagles fan he asked me why. I told Henderson that it took me 10 years to become an Eagles fan and that Philadelphia became my second home. Henderson was always eager to help others, and always had a smile on his face. Henderson and his wife Roxanne always invited me into their home and provided me with great company as well as great food, and when I was down and I needed a loan he was always there to give it to me without a question, and really if at all ever asked to be paid back. Who you left us way too soon.I miss my best friend everyday, but know he is in heaven helping others. (Stephen Hicks)
