About Mamie (Motley) Banks 88 Born October 21, 1931 departed this life Friday, January 31, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Dearrist (Burke) Motley and Augustus Motley of Dawson Georgia. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel L. Banks and son Gregory Charles Robinson; brother Frank Motley ; two sisters Ann Perkins and Mary Motley. Mamie was a lifelong resident of Springfield, Massachusetts she graduated from the High School of Commerce. She worked for many years as a secretary at the Springfield Armory, Standard Electric Time, Digital Corporation and the Senior Aide Employment Program. She enjoyed number games, playing Bingo and visiting Foxwoods on occasions. She loved to read, liked learning and was very knowledgeable. Most of all she loved God and her children. She is survived by a daughter Sandra D. Banks of Springfield, Ma and son Carl A. Robinson of Fitchburg, Ma.; two sisters Vera Worthy and Rose Scott both of Springfield, Ma. She has three grandchildren Allen Robinson, Andrew Lavoie and Andreana Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish her memory. There will be a graveside ceremony at Oak Grove Cemetery 426 Bay Street on Thursday, February 13, at 11:00am. Henderson Funeral Home is in charge of all professional services.
