Cecil Thomas Gumm, 67 of Columbus went to his eternal home Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Maximus Restaurant.

Cecil was born July 11, 1953, in Genoa, NE to Cecil and Helen (Gragert) Gumm. He was baptized at St. Bonaventure and confirmed at St. Anthony’s upon joining the Catholic faith.

Cecil was united in marriage to Janet Swierczek on May 22, 1971, at St. Anthony’s. They have three children. Cecil worked at Lindsay Manufacturing and Bell Farms – Shelby until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and cruising to many islands. But most of all, his grand and great- grand kids were the apple of his eye.

Cecil has a grandson who is deployed. Cecil’s request was to have all his grandchildren home. Upon his return stateside there will be a Memorial Service.
