Class of 1972
Army, 38 Years
Served from 1976 to 2014. Served in Italy, Germany, Honduras, Nicaragua, Jamaica. Enlisted as a Truck driver, served as crane operator, Heavy equipment operator and Mechanic.
Served as Platoon Sergeant, and in 2001 became a Warrant Officer. In 2010
served as Commander for 112th FSC for 11 months. Retied in 2014 as Chief Warrant Officer 4

Navy, 17 Years
Served in USS Barry(DD933), USS Pharris(FF1094), USS Coontz (DDG40) on the east coast. I was stationed at Norfolk, Va. and Mayport, Fla. I was a Gunner Mate in charge of 5" 54 gun mounts and small arms.I was in charge of an average of 28 men in my Division.I seen about 3/4 of the world, from Europe to The Gulf (middle east) to Norway to the Caribbean to the east coast of Africa.

Kenneth Raymond Liechty
Class of 1957
Navy, 20+ Years
CDR Kenneth R. Liechty, USN RET, served both domestic and foreign duty stations, including Vietnam. He flew P-3 Orions (VP-24 Batmen), was a base meteorologist at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and also served with NATO in Italy.

Our Columbia High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done!
