About Me	I have done poverty work, advocacy and organizing -- locally, nationally and internationally. Although I was on a track in graduate school and teaching at USC in the English Department on an assistantship, we moved to SUmter, where I taught at Morris College, then to the beach where I taught at Horry-Georgetown Tech, then went to work at Waccamaw EOC writing programs and grants and directing literacy programs all over the three-county area. At the same time, as a hobby I was designing costumes for community theaters where we lived and loving it and painting on the side. When we moved to Atlanta in 1983 I decided to get into that costume work and created a non-profit design resource to provide costumes to all the theaters in Atlanta and environs. Did that until we adopted Donnie in 1985 and everything changed for us. Jim and I were asked to come and work for the Task Force for the Homeless as directors, and we have done that ever since. I have been President of the National Coalition for the Homeless, on the board of the HIC international Coalition, and still working. I guess retirement is a state of mind.
