I was his student as well in the late 60s or early 70s. I remember when the class got out of hand, he would say, “People, people, please!” ….to try to get us to settle down. I remember the 3 tribes we had in the class. Zuni, Kwakiutl, and I don’t remember what the other one was called. I was a Zuni. You had to act like and adopt the philosophy of that tribe.

I believe he was an English teacher at CPHS. He taught my Shakespeare class and I've loved the bard ever since. He always addressed me as Miss Hawthorne b/c I held stubbornly to addressing him as Mr. Supplee, b/c he was the teacher. On the last day of class when I turned in my final exam, I said "Thank you Dale, I really enjoyed your class." His eyes lit up and he replied, "I enjoyed having you in my class, Cheryl." Have never forgotten that exchange!
