About	After graduating from Chico State Mel was in the glass container manufacturing industry. Worked in several glass plants in the USA, and built a glass factory from the ground up in Wilson, NC. Returned to Chico and loved the cowboy life style, except for his passion for surfing at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz. May he Rest in Peace. Rod Detmer '67.
