He fought a valiant fight against cancer but died after a one year battle. Mat had a quick wit and loved to laugh. He spent 16 years in the Army as a peramedic in charge of an ambulance. Mat is survived by 2 older sisters, two daughters, two grandsons and a granddaughter. His ashes will be laid to rest in Chattanooga TN at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. He was a resident of Clarkesville TN for many years. His two cats were re-homed with his daughter and sister.
