Marine Corps, 4 Years
Served 4 years of active duty in the Marine corps. Veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Spent 10 months in Okinawa, Japan and 2 months in South Korea. Most of my last 2 years was spent in southern California, what a blast. Got out as an E-4 and joined the reserves and quickly picked up E-5. Great experience, glad that I did it.

Works on fight decks of nuclear powered Aircraft Carriers supervising the safe and expiditious launch and recovery of mission capable aircraft. Handles the crash and salvage crews. Has served at two training commands as a lead instructor and a liaison officer.

Graduated from U of Iowa in 1960 with Regular Army Commission and served in the Infantry rising to the rank of Colonel. Served three tours in Vietman and was awarded the Silver Star for Gallantry in action. Retired in 1984. Now resides in Orlando, Florida, with wife Gail (Hinshaw) Jones. Married 58 years.

Served in the Philippines and Thailand as unit commander. Served on PACAF ORI team as Comm-Electronics inspector. Served in Europe with DCA-Europe, Stuttgart Germany. Retired 1981.
