Dan Tanksley
Class of 1980
Graduated from Mississippi State University, with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1985. Moved to the DFW area in 1985 immediately following graduation.
In 1987 I married Melissa Barlow (Pearl HS Graduate 1982).
Licensed as a professional engineer in Texas since 1990.
Graduated from the Texas Wesleyan School of Law in 1994. Licensed to practice law in Texas in 1994.
Three sons - Stephen (Born 1993), graduate of Southlake Carroll High School (2011) and currently a student at the University of Oklahoma.
Brandon (born 1995), a senior at Southlake Carroll High School and
Ryan (born 1997), a sophomore at Southlake Carroll High School.
I've been employed by Halff Associates, Inc. (consulting engineering firm) since 1986 where I currently serve as Vice Chairman of the Halff Board of Directors and as a Vice President and the General Counsel.
Active with the National Society of Professional Engineers (Chair of the Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee from 2004-2009) and currently the Chair of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers' Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee (2011-2013). Have served on and chaired several engineering related Task Forces at both the National and State level.
Our family is active at our place of worship, Compass Christian Church, located in Colleyville, Texas.
We enjoy outdoor activities with family and friends.
