Jay Thomas Glerum, 62, of Montclair died on Jan. 18, 2010. Born in Passaic, Tom lived most of his life in Clifton before moving to Glen Ridge and Montclair.
A graduate of Clifton High School, Tom was the first trombone and lead member for the Mustang Marching Band during the time the band performed in Holland. Tom attended Northwestern University in Chicago, and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
He was the beloved father of Rachel Jannarone and her husband, Richard, of Millstone, Faith Martens and her husband, Jason, of East Brunswick, and Tyler of Glen Ridge, and dear brother of Joel of Milford, N.H., Alison Stanford of Maui, Hawaii, and the late Brian, who died in 1999.
A commercial real estate broker, he worked for Douglas Elliman, Cushman & Wakefield, Palistini Properties and Studley Insurance Co.
Visiting is on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.
Funeral is on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Allwood Community Church, 100 Chelsea Road, Clifton.
Interment is in East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
