Robert (Bob) Piekarz passed away on Sunday February 6, 2022 at age 75. Born on June 25, 1946, in Passaic New Jersey he was the son of Michael and Frances (Sciezka) Piekarz. Bob grew up on Norman Avenue in Clifton NJ with his older brother Michael (Butchie) Piekarz and his first cousins from Wallington Gwen Van Dyk, Richie (Ingret) Van Dyk and Joan (Eddie) Van Dyk-Guzzo.

He played football in high school as part of the "Fighting Mustangs", and graduated in 1965.

Bob's affinity for cars led him to develop expertise in car repair and auto bodywork. He opened East Rutherford Auto body in its first location in 1972. His propensity as a businessperson, and his expertise on a variety of vehicles caused East Rutherford auto body to move to a much larger location at 111 Union Ave about 10 years later. At this location, Bob launched a second business: Roadmasters Towing, with a trademark that he was very proud of "Roadmasters: Pulling for America". Roadmasters served as one of the largest towing companies of its day, covering much of the state of New Jersey, and holding the contract for the New Jersey Turnpike. Both businesses have since closed, but they provide a backdrop of memories and adventures for Bob's nieces, nephews, family and friends.

His Father Michael Piekarz predeceased Bob, as did his mother Frances (Sciezka) Piekarz, brother Michael D. Piekarz, sister in law Eileen (Welstead) Piekarz, cousin Gwen Van Dyk and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Bob is survived by his nieces and nephews Douglas (Kimberly) Piekarz, Suzanne (Herb) Rodriguez, Christine (Joe) Carbone, and Daniel (Rachel) Piekarz. He is also survived by his Great Nieces and Nephews Jessica (Digi) Cresong, Amanda Piekarz, Michael Carbone, Katherine Rodriguez, Austin Carbone, Jared Rodriguez, Luke Piekarz, Nicholas Carbone, Elliot Piekarz, Eve Piekarz, and Ryan Rodriguez as well as his Aunt Jaye Nelson - Baker, cousins Richard (Ingret) Van Dyk, and Joan (Eddie) Van Dyk- Guzzo.
