About Me | I retired from the Central Intelligence Agency, effective, April 1, 2009. After high school, I spent two years with the U.S Army, Corps of Engineers, serving one year in Viet Nam (2/67 to 2/68), as a Combat Engineer, Americal Division. We saw combat, but primarily, we constructed bridges, roads, buildings, mine sweeping and field demolition. These duties included services as a demolition expert, detection and disposal. After my tour of duty with the U. S. Army, I attended the SUNY at Farmingdale where I earned an Associate in Applied Science in Construction Technology; upon graduation, I transfered to Texas A & M University where I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Upon graduation I worked for a architectural firm in Hudson County, NJ and participated priimarly in the design of schools, parks and recreation facilities in West New York and Jersey City. In July 1970, I married Frances Menzella, we have four sons; Paul Jr, Salvatore, Michael and David. Our sons are married and doing extremely well in there respective professions. We also have 13 grandchildren; 8 boys and 5 girls. I have practiced Architecture and worked as a Program/Project Manager for over forty years. I have had the pleasure of designing, constructing and managing buildings/ facilities throughout the world from Iceland to Hawaii, from California to Bermuda. I have also had the opportunity to travel worldwide visiting many countries and enjoying their various cultures, food and drink. Life has been exciting experience and journey, with the support of my wife and four sons for which I have had an tremendious journey teaching, coaching, participating while mentoring them through out their lives with academics, sports; namely baseball, football, basketball, soccer and tennis. My life has been extremely busy and fruitful. We have been successful and fortunate in obtaining and developing their opportunities in college with 4 athletic scholarships, Paul Jr. attended Seton Hall University majoring in political science while playing tennis. Paul is currently the CEO of a computer data firm; Salvatore, Paul's twin brother majored in Business and later became interested in teaching while playing baseball and football at Va Tech and is currently the Activities Director at Hylton HS, Prince William Cty, Virginia; Michael, a P.E. major was drafted by the L A Angles to play professional baseball and subsequently completed his degree during his off season, he has played in the big show for the San Diego Padres and Oakland A's as well. Michael is currently retired from major league baseball and now is the CEO of Colangelo Baseball and Colangelo Charities; Our youngest son David was an IT major and played baseball at Marshall U, establishing many of Marshall's hitting records. He currently works for the Marine Corps in Qunatico, Va as a Computer Program/Project Manager. We must thank God with all his blessings and good fortune, for all that he has bestowed upon us and with all the love, fun and excitement he continues to bestow. Our lives have passed by too fast; "stop to smell the roses", comes to mind! We currently spend our winters in Ponce Inlet, Florida and rest of the year in Montclair, Virginia near our four sons and their families. I like to think " We are the sum total of our life experiances" by the way this is my favorite quote. Another quote, I often use is "Life is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what your going to get", Forrest, Forrest Gump. There is no way retirement can surpass the excitement of the past 40 years. WOW, what a journey we have had. So for now I will kick back and enjoy the rest of my life while it lasts. Thank you all for being part of the sum total of our my life experiances! God speed! Ciao, Pau...(read more) |
