Bernard T Brady
Class of 1961
Army, 20+ Years
Drafted in 1964, sent to Ft Benning,to the 2nd Inf Bd. Then overseas to the 1st Air Cav.Got out in 1966 and went to work for the Dept of Defense in Nuclear Missiles and then Huey Aircraft. Condition of employment was belonging to the National Guard. Was able to retire at age 49 with 30 years credit.

was at the Bay of Pigs, retrieved multiple
survivors and took them back to Norfolk, Va.
Served on the USS Dewey DLG 15 out of Norfolk.
Served 3 years 3 months and was discharged on OCT 7 1962.

Disabled vietnam veteran, good conduct medal, vietnam campaign medal and ribbon southeast, national defense medal etc. Retired from the Central Intelligence Agency as Intelligence Office/ Architect. Major accomplishment: set up the task force to track and capture Osama Bin Laden.

After boot camp, I received orders for school. After graduating Structural Firefighting School, I was sent to Midway Island for 12 months. After Midway I was ordered to San Diego, Ca. and reported aboard the USS Gunston Hall LSD-5. for the remainder of my military duty. While aboard, the ship went to San Francisco for a six month Yard Repair. We then went to Cuba as part of the Russian/Cuba Blockade. The ship did a 9 month tour of West Pac, which included stops in Hawaii, Philippine Is, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Pago Pago and Okinawa.
