Our 30-yr class reunion is fast approaching. The BEST news of all is that this is the most economic class reunion we have ever had, thanks to Facebook, email & generous classmates. The only money we need in advance is $25 per person! This is a significant savings over previous reunions. You may choose to respond by email to: 81Raiders@groups.facebook.com Friday night, Sept 2, we will be cheering on the Blue Raiders at Benny Monroe Stadium. Try to arrive by 7pm. Pay your own way in & we will all be sitting together. If you haven't been there in a while, make sure you sit on the side farthest from the school. This was the visitor's side when we were in school. Our class will be recognized during the game. In our committee meetings, there hasn't been a lot of interest expressed in having an organized, mid-day activity on Saturday, Sept 3. Some classmates are getting together for a golf outing. Contact Greg Redman at gregred1@aol.com if you are interested. Others of us have discussed getting together for a brown-bag picnic at Deer Park at 11:30. There's a pavilion there with picnic tables & we can hang out at no cost & reminisce about hanging out there as children. Drive thru the Krystal & get you a bag of "gut-bombs", run to Jenkins' Deli for a chicken salad sandwich for old-times' sake or stop by the Burger Chef (now just "The Chef") for a Barbecue sandwich & some tots. It's still right across Keith St from The Village. You could just eat before you come if you want. Regardless, we can look at old pictures & old copies of The Lance & have big fun! Saturday night, Sept 3 at 7PM, we are invited to Council Fire Golf & Country Club. We will be casually poolside, under beautiful tents (with ceiling fans). Again, the only cost is $25 per person which will cover delicious hot hors d'oeuvres, gratuities & incidentals. We will have a DJ for dancing to our favorites from our school days! This must be postmarked by August 19th in order for us to give them an accurate count for food.
