About Me | If you are looking for Sherrie's (my wife) email, it is: sgholmes67@gmail.com Since Sherrie initially just used my account for everything, this site was originally mine (Larry's), then became Sherrie's, but now it is mine again (Larry's). Sorry about the confusion. Now, I hope I can get her account set up and working right!! Okay....ahem...what is there about me that is worth putting here? Well, the most important things are: I am Sherrie's husband, friend and love(r) in all senses of those words and ideas. And a lucky man I am to be so! I am also the father of her five children, which she shares with me if I am "being haive", as our kids used to say when very young. (It makes perfect sense if you can see it from their point of view: when they are told "you'd better behave or you will be in big trouble!" by the ruler of all the world that they know of (Sherrie), they think: "I'd better be haive or I will get punished or something else bad", which, when proper tense is applied, translates to the desired result which they must strive for: to "be haive" (the "i" is added to make sure "have" is pronounced with the "a" being "hard", and not as "have" such as "what do you have in the box?"). Thus, when they believe they are being scolded unjustly, their argument becomes: "but I AM being haive!". etc. Now, from what I just wrote, you know a lot about me, but I'll throw in a few pieces of junk to gum up the works: I am a semi-retired electrical engineer (BSEE from BYU, 1978), inventor, entrepreneur, woodworker, wood carver, journalist, and all around "nice guy". That translates to: I love ideas, creating tangible objects and systems from ideas, testing them, and doing these all over again until something good comes of it. Of course, it is more difficult than it seems here, but this is still what I do! I don't know how else to honestly describe myself without sounding foolish or pompous or arrogant or ..... just because I occasionally am pompous and arrogant (who isn't, occasionally?), doesn't mean I have to SOUND like I am. I guess to sum it up: I am complicated but also, transparent most of the time. With me, WYSIWYG. I know, that's disappointing, but hey, let's see how YOU look when 60+ years old YOU are! (imagine a little green Muppet s...(read more) |
