About Me	Traveling between my disparate homes in Bali, Indonesia and Austin, Texas, I draw upon my mixed heritage, finding inspiration to tell both fiction and non-fiction stories. I would have to say that my filmmaking probably started because I am blessed with a mother, Ibu Robin Lim(CNN Hero of the year, 2011), fierce humanitarian, storyteller and midwife, who has continuously given me reasons to pick up my camera. She continues to be an inspiration in my work, both narrative and documentary. My body of work includes documentaries that have taken me to Africa, Indonesia, Haiti and beyond, and include the award winning documentaries, Guerrilla Midwife and Tsunami Notebook. I try to create films which might open hearts and connect people to their global communities in surprising and entertaining ways. I received my BFA in Filmmaking from Maharishi University in 2004 and am graduating from The University of Texas Radio-Television-Film in August 2013, where I will receive an MFA in Film Production. While directing and writing is my passion, I have also minored in Women and Gender Studies and Acting at the University of Texas, two areas which have greatly informed my work as a filmmaker. My most recent completed work, The Midwife’s Husband, has recently won the 40th Annual Regional Student Academy Awards and is nominated for the National Student Academy Award 2013. I am just as passionate about teaching filmmaking as creating films and have proudly lectured at both the University of Texas and Maharishi University. I will continue to learn from many and love to share what I have learned thus far with others. I am currently in pre-production of a pilot, a made for HBO/Showtime style, dark-comedy half-hour series which I am developing entitled; Returning To Ananda, which goes into production in June 2013.
