| About Me | Male, 48 years, Caucasian, Accounting Professional, Musician, Sports Fan, Trivia Master, Golfer, Sailor, Hiker, Freedom-Lover Born in Charleston SC, December 27, 1962. Grew up in San Diego, CA and Las Vegas, NV. Fifth of six children. Married twice. Recently divorced. After graduating from Bonanza High School, Las Vegas, Nevada in May 1981, I attended Bakersfield College in Bakersfield, CA, with my friend, Joey Triscari. I lasted at Bakersfield College until April 1982. I moved back to LV to help my mother out while she went through a bankruptcy. In January 1983 I joined the United States Air Force. After graduating as the top graduate in my training flight at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas, I was assigned to the 564th Tactical Air Command Band at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA. My first official performance with the band was the recommissioning of the Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team that had been decommissioned after their tragic crash on January 18, 1982. This was definitely a highlight of my military career after spending so many summer days watching the Thunderbirds rehearse their skill over the blue desert skies of southern Nevada. I would record two albums with the Tactical Air Command Band. This band was the first concert band to record a transcription of Le Sacre Du Printemps (The Rite of Spring) by Igor Stravinsky. This band definitely made history and I was honored to be a part of such a world-class musical organization. However it came with a huge price for me. In February 1984, I was diagnosed with an inflammatory bowel disease called Crohn's Disease. This illness would eventually force me to accept a medical discharge from the USAF and end my military career with a service-connected disability. Needless to say, I was devastated. But for those of you who know me, I am not a quitter and began my life anew outside of the military that led me to North Seattle Community College in Seattle, WA. I completed my education at NSCC in June 2002 and completed 5 quarters at Seattle University as an accounting major in the Albers School of Business and Economics. I am 45 credits away from completing my B.A. in Business Administration and once my health gets better plan to finish my education at SU. I am a former employee of Shoreline Community College in Shoreline, WA. I welcome those of you who find me. Take care and God bless you all! Tommy Prigmore R...(read more) |
