About	Published: Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in the Macomb Daily newspaper Terrance "Terry" Burke, age 53, of St. Helen and Harrison Township, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Terry was born January 31, 1956 in Mount Clemens, a son of William and Dorothy (nee VanDenbrooks) Burke. On April 1, 1989, Terry married Loretta Jane Scalf in Mount Clemens. Terry was the Head Mechanic for Chippewa Valley Schools for 35 years. He loved his family and the outdoors, including snowmobiling, dirt bike riding, hunting and fishing. Terry was a hands-on "jack of all trades" he especially enjoyed woodworking, he built his own home and furniture and a spectacular tree house for his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Loretta; children, Lisa (Brian) Gentz-Winters of Chesterfield Township and Jason (Barbara) Barker of Bowling Green, Ky.; mother, Dorothy Burke of Macomb Township; grandchildren, Dustin, Taylor, Logan, Kayleigh, Kyle, Brendan, Autumn and Nicole; siblings, Steven (Lynnsey) Burke of Sterling Heights, Phillip (Kathy) Burke of Chesterfield Township and Cindy (Chuck) Freshney of Roseville; nieces and nephews, Joshua, Kristin, Morgan, Dawson, Amanda, Rebecca and Russ; and many more loving family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, William Burke. Funeral Mass Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 9 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens. Visitation Thursday, 4-9 p.m. and Friday, 1-9 p.m. with an evening Scripture at Hauss Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank (north of 21 Mile Road), Macomb Township and Saturday at the church 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes to the American Cancer Society.
