I had the honor of working with Larry until I left the Sheriff's Office in 2001. I remember the deep ache I felt in my chest when I learned, not just of his passing, but the manner in which it occurred. Unfortunately, it was not the first time I would go through these feeling and also not the last as I have experienced other fallen officers during my career. Larry was special in many ways and his smile was very infectious. He had much potential and was ruthlessly and absolutely stolen from us before we could truly see, or he would be able to fully realize, his potential. Rest in Peace my friend!
