I have visited every continent except Antartica since leaving Chicopee in 1978 for South Africa. Entered US Navy in 1982 after unsucessfull attempt at Syracuse University with Chemical Engineering Major. Tested and accepted for US Navy Submarine Service. Served on board three Nuclear Submarines in Hawaii, Holy Lock Scotland and Groton CT. Served as an instructor at Naval Submarine School. While supporting a family of four returned to college and through many off duty nights and weekends completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in Occuptional Safety and Health Management, OSHA Construction Standards and Industrial Hygiene. Completed US Department of Labor Journayman's License in Power Plant Operations, Hydro-Electric Mechanics, Maintenance Mechanic (Any Industry), Diesel Inspector, Refrigeration Technician. Selected as a Naval Officer in August 2002. Served in Guantanamo Bay Cuba as Preventive Medicine Department Head, USS RONALD REAGAN CVN 75(Assistant Safety Officer), USS FRANK CABLE AS 40 (Safety Officer), Naval Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit #2 (Industrial Hygiene Fleet Industrial Hygiene Officer), President Board of Inspection and Survey (Submarine and Ship Inspector). Awaded Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Naval Commendation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Award (5), Battle E award (2), Enlisted Submarine Warfare Qualification, Master Training Specialist. Awarded Chief of Naval Operations Safety Award, Department of Defense Safety Award, Chief of Naval Operations Environmental Award. Most rewarding expeirence was a humanitarian mission to Liberia Africa. Officer in charge of survey of Soil, Air and Water. Liason with US Embassy and US Army Liberia Africa for Project Hope (Environmental Health Site Assessment / Education, providing medical support to local inhabitants and surveying construction sites (Hospitals, Clinics, Schools).
