Betty Anne was born and raised in Pittsview, Alabama, the fifth of nine siblings, the middle child. Her father and mother were Elbert and Annie. She left her hometown on a Greyhound bus and came to New York City and attended the Grace Downs Airline Academy where she fell in love with a career in nursing and left the runway. She married the love of her life, Jerry Manganaro, and became mother to two talented and beautiful daughters, Pamela Elizabeth and Kim Lea. She loved her life as an RN, and brought her skills to all that she did.
Her four grandchildren adored her and she them; Samuel, Jacob, Max and Matthew. She is laid to rest in peace in Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona.
