About	Denise Marie Saenz, 60, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, after a short but brave battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer. She died at home surrounded by her loved ones. Denise was born on September 11, 1951, to the late Edwin F. and Josephine D. (Zullo) Meyer in Pittsburgh. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved to cook, loved her Pittsburgh Steelers, and took pride in her Italian heritage. Friends and family will remember times when all three of those were combined on a Sunday afternoon with a pot of spaghetti and meatballs with bracciole on the stove and the Steelers game on the television as Denise cheered on her team in her apron with the sauce spoon in her hand. Denise is survived by her husband of 38 years, Alfonso M. Saenz, III; her children, Karen M. Shaak (Todd), Angela M. Myers (Brett), Alfonso M. Saenz, IV (Erin Cook), and Nicholas A. Saenz; her eight grandchildren, Braeden G. Shaak, Patrick K. Shaak, Mackenzie E. Shaak, Melia M. Myers, Nina M. Myers, Barrett G. Myers, Eric S. Saenz, and Brody T. Saenz; and her siblings, Michael S. Meyer, David C. Meyer, and Sherri A. Gillim. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gregory L. Meyer. Denise also leaves behind many other close relatives, friends, and co-workers who loved her dearly. She will be terribly missed.
