About | Age 61. Of Brookline, formerly of Scott Township, after a brief but courageous battle with ALS which he fought to the end, Tom passed away with his family by his side. Tom was loved and adored by his family and friends. Tom was always willing to help everyone. Very handsome and quick witted, as well as brilliant. Graduate of Chartiers Valley Class of 1974 and a team member of the 1972 WPIAL Champion football team. Tom went on to play football at Grove City College and then attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated in 1979 with a Mining Engineering degree. Several years later Tom earned a Master's of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Tom was the Director of Engineering at PWSA for several years and most recently a Plant Manager of Tri County Water and Sewer Authority until his illness caused him to retire in June. Tom was an avid sports fan, he loved the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. Preceded in death by his father, Joseph L. Gigliotti. Survived by his mother, Dolores B. (O'Hanlon) Gigliotti; brother of Joseph J. (Marilyn) Gigliotti, Margaret Finnel, Christopher (Debbie) Gigliotti, Richard (Cindy) Gigliotti, Stephen Gigliotti, and Caroline Curran (Fred Pollock). Tom had fifteen nieces and nephews; and 28 great-nieces and great-nephews. Tom will be dearly missed by his great, big, close-knit family. We are heartbroken our brother Tom is gone, but never forgotten. “Until we meet again on the other side- Heaven!” |
