About	Beloved husband of Jean (Fiori) McGarvey for 48 years; loving father of Kathleen McGarvey, Timothy McGarvey, Maureen (David) Shaw, and Conor (Tabitha) McGarvey; proud grandfather of Lidia Rose Shaw, Finnian Thomas McGarvey, Maeve Colleen McGarvey, and soon arrival of baby McGarvey. TJ was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mildred McGarvey; and his brother, Edward "Herk" McGarvey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers, and sisters-in-law whom he loved dearly. TJ was an Iron Worker in Local 3, Head of Labor Relations in Allegheny County, an Adjunct Professor at several local universities, and Labor relations specialists at GES. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After Vietnam, TJ raised money for various Veterans organizations, and was a member of the Friends of Danang. He spoke in front of the U.S. Senate for the victims of Agent Orange and their families. TJ was one of founders of the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program, and president for both Vietnam Veterans Monument Committees in the North Shore and Upper St. Clair. He was a longtime member and football coach at St. Louise de Marillac. TJ also had an immense devotion to the Rosary and a strong Catholic faith. Most of all, TJ will be remembered for his kindness, compassion and love.
