About	Richard was en route to Vietnam. The transport plane stopped in Alaska to refuel and upon takeoff it crashed and burned. Forty-six military members died. Rich was buried with 6 of those members who died, in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Missouri. He was only 20 years old. His cousin, Brian Bain, age 19 died in Vietnam just 2 months before. Rich was the son of Dorothy Bright and the late John May and he had 4 half-sisters. (All of them are deceased now.)
