About | Jonathan Jamar Tillar was born on February 10, 1987 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to William Alfred and Cindy Marie Tillar and he departed on December 2, 2016. Jon was educated through the Chartiers Valley school district, and attended a portion of his schooling in Colorado Springs at Watson Junior High School. While at Watson Junior High, he was heavily involved in sports. He excelled in baseball, football, and wrestling. Uncle Doogie recalls keeping Jon busy with school work and running sports drills with him 3 to 4 times a week. Jon also had culinary interests and was talented. He loved to cook and would decorate his dish like in the restaurants. He was personable, funny, and very neat; his bedroom was spotless. He did not care much for his weekly chore of cutting the grass, and curfew wasn't a favorite. Uncle Doogie and Aunt Melva enjoyed Jon and said they had the greatest time during the year he stayed with them, as he made life interesting. As an adult, he often said he should have stayed in Colorado Springs. Jon spent a great deal of time growing up with his beloved grandparents, John and Mildred Tillar, whom he greatly respected and adored. His grandmother's birthday was 11 Feb and his was 10 Feb; they enjoyed that closeness. Jon was baptized at Second Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend John McKinney. He was last employed at the Pittsburgh Fencing Company. Jon is preceded in death by his father William Alfred Tillar, Sr. and mother Cindy Marie Hartz-Tillar. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his two brothers William Alfred Tillar, Jr. and Isaiah Carl Tillar both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his children Deontae, Jonathan, Galilea; his partner Mariam; his grandmother Nancy Hartz; and three uncles John (Saundra) Tillar of Cuddy, PA; Donald (Melva) Tillar, Sr. of Colorado Springs, CO; and Larry (Laura) Tillar of Anaheim, CA. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of family and friends. |
