Walter was a retired Allegheny County Firefighter Lieutenant, a retired Navy Reserve Master Chief Petty Officer, a life member of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, Past Commander of the American Legion Post #290, a retired Pennsylvania State Firefighting Instructor, a member of Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, and a proud Vietnam veteran. Burial with full Military Honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
