About	Age 66. Joe passed away peacefully under Hospice care in Sarasota, after a lifelong battle with kidney failure. Son of Jane and Joseph Smith, who were both Polish immigrants. Joe enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1967, and was active during Vietnam, serving as a Quartermaster on the USS Constellation. He enjoyed running, camping, fishing and gardening. He had a wicked sense of humor and loved making others laugh. Joe is survived by four daughters, Stephanie Knight of Sarasota, Tiffany Sidney of San Antonio, Tyler Sidney of Nashville, Tenn. and Dana Sidney of Campbell. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Lexi Gingras of San Antonio, as well as Addison and Fletcher Knight of Sarasota.
