Age 43, of Columbus, died in Helena, Arkansas. Preceded in death by parents Carl and Mary Scheid, survived by sister Carol Scheid Ludwin, a niece and nephew and his friend and love, Carrie Moreland.
Tragically, Bob was murdered in Arkansas. He was traveling by sailboat to assist in building a house when the boat needed mechanical work. The group stopped in Helena and during their time there, met 2 men and briefly befriended them. After spending some time together one evening the 2 men needed help finding their way back to where they were staying. Bob and the fiancee of one of the men offered to walk them back, they also took a dog with them. During the walk the 2 men attacked Bob and the dog with knives, killing them both. They dragged the woman, Susan Conwell, into the brush and raped and killed her also. The 2 killers were sent to jail for life, I won't even mention their names here. Rest in peace, Bob and Susan.
