About	Age 64, of South Fayette, formerly of Bridgeville, died unexpectedly. He was an employee at the former Mayview State Hospital in South Fayette for 30 years, an aircraft landing flagman on a US Navy carrier during the Vietnam conflict, and a member of the Championship University of Pittsburgh Student Auto Racing Team. Punchy loved riding his Harley Davidsons and laughing with his wife. He received his Associate's Degree from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. Husband of Lou Ann Franks; son of the late Donald and Marion Franks; father of Mandi Franks, who is at the San Diego US Naval Base, and Christine Derderian, a French foreign exchange student, and the late Maggie Franks; brother-in-law of Mary Ellen "Do-De." THOMAS FRANKS AND HIS DAUGHTER, MAGGIE FRANKS (WHO DIED ONLY FOUR DAYS EARLIER) WILL BE INTERRED TOGETHER AT THE WOODRUFF MEMORIAL PARK, NEAR CANONSBURG. Military Honors will be provided to Mr. Franks. Family suggests contributions to Disabled American Veterans.
