Lucy died at age 17 in a horrible car crash just a few days before graduation day. She was riding with Elmer Hughes, the driver, and siblings Monica and Leonard Harrington. Elmer collided head-on with another car and their car exploded, all 4 were killed. Lucy was the beloved daughter of Henry and Frances Hanneken, sister of James H. and Anthony T. Hanneken. A Mass of Christian burial was held at Our Lady of Grace Church.
