About | Jim died in Vietnam in 1969. His cause of death is listed as 'intentional homicide'. I found the story on this in the Pgh newspaper, but at that point it wasn't known who killed him. He is buried near his father and mother in All Saints PN Cemetery in Collier Twp, PA. His headstone has "Killed in action" carved on it, and I always wondered if his widowed mother was not told the truth about his death. Jim, age 20, of Scott Township, was the beloved son of Anna (Malinowski) Krolikowski and Joseph Krolikowski. Both parents are now deceased. JAMES JOSEPH KROLIKOWSKI is honored on Panel 20W, Row 124 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Full Name: JAMES JOSEPH KROLIKOWSKI Wall Name: JAMES J KROLIKOWSKI Date of Birth: 10/23/1948 Date of Casualty: 8/10/1969 Home of Record: PITTSBURGH State: PA Branch of Service: ARMY Rank: SP4 Casualty Country: SOUTH VIETNAM Casualty Province: BINH DUONG ~~~~~~~~~~~ An American Soldier You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door, Hey, I'm solid, I'm steady, I'm true down to the core, And I will always do my duty, no matter what the price, I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice, And I don't want to die for you, But if dying's asked of me, I'll bear that cross with honor, 'Cause freedom don't come free. I'm an American Soldier, an American, Beside my Brothers and my Sisters I will proudly take a stand. When liberty's in jeopardy I'll always do what's right. I'm out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rest in Peace, dear Jim, thank you for your service. (excerpt from Toby Keith's song) |
