Dec 17, 1948 - Apr 16, 2026
Linda Hanjorgiris passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026. Linda was born December 17, 1948 in Pittsburgh and remained a lifelong Yinzer. Whether you knew her as a Hanjorgiris, a Cunningham, or a Ruttenberg… as Mrs. C or Mrs. H… “Nona” (purposely spelled incorrectly)… Daisy… sister, aunt, cousin, teacher, neighbor, or simply Mom… to know her was to love her. Linda was an unwavering force for good, with a seemingly bottomless well of patience. It’s no surprise that she became an elementary school teacher, shaping the lives of countless students who will carry her lessons with them well beyond the classroom. She had four children of her own: Abigail (Alex), Maclain (Maria), Alexis (work in progress!), and Alaina (Cole). But in truth, countless others were her “kids,” especially her beloved grandchildren Mackenzie, Nolan, Standard, Waverly, August, and Jack, along with nieces and nephews, cousins, students, neighbors, neighborhood kids, friends, and anyone lucky enough (or unfortunate enough?) to get drawn into a conversation. Her door was always open, and there were ALWAYS snacks. She could drive you crazy at times, but she never did so with malice—only with love, honesty, and the occasional little white lie. Her stubbornness came from the same place as her kindness: a deep conviction in what she felt was right. Even through health challenges later in life, she never lost her warmth or her gift for making people feel like they belonged. In addition to her children, she is survived by three of her siblings: Mark, Amy, and Allen, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family. She is reunited now with her late husband Ronnie, sister Judy, parents Catherine and Herman, and countless other loved ones who went before her. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, May 2nd from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Beinhauer Funeral Home in McMurray, PA. Bring your memories, but please leave the black clothes at home. Wear your brightest dress, your favorite Steelers gear, or whatever makes you comfortable. Come in jeans, come straight from the gym, come as you are to say hello and goodbye. And please bring kids. The louder and more energetic, the better. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you honor Linda by doing something kind for a friend, a neighbor, or a complete stranger.
