| About | Kimberly Kieffer, age 67, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on February 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by prayer and the loving presence of those closest to her. She has gone home to be with the Lord, reunited with her cherished parents, Lou and Flo Kieffer, who preceded her in death. Kim was the devoted wife of Mike Urick, her true love and closest friend. Though they found each other later in life, their love felt deeply intentional—proof that waiting for the right person is always worth it. Together, they made every moment count, savoring each day with gratitude, laughter, and a profound appreciation for one another. Their 18 years of love was rooted in friendship, companionship, and a devotion that never wavered. Whether traveling, sharing quiet moments at home, or walking through life’s most difficult seasons hand in hand, Kim and Mike’s love was steady, joyful, and beautifully complete—exactly the love they were meant to find. Kim shared a close and meaningful bond with her brother Kevin, one shaped by a lifetime of love and faith. Some of her most treasured childhood memories were made at the family camp, where days unfolded simply and joyfully. In later years, time spent at Kevin’s camp carried renewed significance—connecting her to their familiar roots while creating new memories she held dear. At the heart of their relationship was a shared love of Jesus Christ, a faith that guided their lives and provided strength, peace, and a deep sense of connection through every season. Kim also shared a special relationship with her sister-in-law, Jane. For 44 years, they stood together through life’s joys and challenges with steadfast support. Their annual tradition of attending a cancer benefit held deep meaning: honoring both Kim’s journey and the memory of Jane’s mother. This tradition reflected not only resilience, but compassion, loyalty, and the quiet strength they offered one another year after year. Kimmy was the cool aunt to Ashley Schantz (Cody) and Kristina Altieri (Adam), a role she cherished with her whole heart. She was intentional about creating moments that brought them joy—taking them to concerts, signing up for cake-decorating classes, sharing beauty rituals, and always encouraging life’s little indulgences. Kim took great pride in being someone they could laugh with, learn from, and always count on. She poured her heart into “her girls,” and her love shaped memories that will be cherished by them forever. Her heart expanded even further when Ashley & Kristina had their own children, affectionately referred to as Kim’s “great kids”—Oliver, Brenna, Vivian, Cole, and Finn. The joy that filled the room when Aunt Kimmy was near was unmistakable. She delighted in spoiling them at every opportunity, never arriving without sweets, treats, a big hug, and her signature “Hi, Honey!” Each Christmas, she thoughtfully selected individual advent calendars and gingerbread houses, creating her own tradition of bringing extra magic and anticipation to their holidays. A gifted and loving creator, Kim crocheted hats for each of her Greats every winter, carefully adjusting sizes and colors as they grew and their favorites changed. Each stitch was a quiet expression of her love, wrapping them in warmth she made by hand. One of Kim’s greatest gifts in life was her lifelong friendship with Cyndi. Best friends for 55 years, they were soul sisters—connected by time, trust, and a deep understanding that required no explanation. Their bond grew and evolved alongside them, shaped by childhood memories and strengthened through every stage of life. It was built on shared laughter, honest conversations, unwavering support, and moments that needed no words at all. Their friendship was constant and rare—less something that was built over time and more something that simply fit from the very beginning and remained unshakable for a lifetime. Creative, patient, and thoughtful by nature, Kim found joy in simple, meaningful pursuits. She loved cross-stitching, reading, and baking, and her home reflected the care and warmth she carried into everything she did. It was a place of comfort and calm, made even more special by her beloved cats, Chloe and Zoe, who were constant companions and a source of daily happiness. Kim will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and quiet strength. She had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Throughout her illness, she faced each day with grace, courage, and unwavering faith—an example that deeply touched all who walked beside her during that journey. She was deeply loved, endlessly cherished, and will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Family and friends are welcome to gather in remembrance and celebration of Kim’s life during a viewing on Sunday, February 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A final farewell service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, February 9, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon where we will gather to share memories, comfort one another, and give thanks for the love Kim brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Kim’s honor to Hair Peace Charities, an organization she loved.
