Here is Barbara's obituary in case the link someone left stops working:
BARBARA WALK MAULSBY
“Barb”, age 76, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on March 14, 2025. Born on January 31, 1949, Barb was a native to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before moving to the Lake Providence Del Webb community of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee 14 years ago where she became a founding member of the “Girl Scouts”, named for the tight bond and friendship of the girls on Scout Drive. Beloved wife of the late, John “Nick” Maulsby for 51 years; loving mother to Scott A. (Carrie) Maulsby and Amy L. (Jason) Potts; sister of Beverly (Frank) Mayer; and a cherished relationship with Mark (Angie) Kabo. Also survived by 11 grandchildren (Carter, Sarah, Owen, Makenzie, Madison, Jackson, Zoie, Ridley, Christina, Abby, and Justin); along with four great grandchildren (Easton, Levi, Rory, and Vivian). She is preceded in death by her husband, Nick, and parents, Anna Margaret (Coyle) and Tony Walk. Barb was a graduate of Chartiers Valley High School, where she was captain of the cheerleading squad and active in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Barb was the recipient of a national award for typewriting, likely a catalyst to pursue teaching as a career. Barb earned her bachelor’s in education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s in education at the University of Pittsburgh. Barb valued education and the power of knowledge with her continued pursuit even with a husband in the Army away in Vietnam and a young baby. Barb’s resilience, faith, and tenacity during this time was an inspiration to many as this would prove again and again throughout her life. Barb had a 35-year tenure teaching business education at Bethel Park High School, in Bethel Park, PA where she also served as department head. She spent countless hours checking papers and writing curriculum and was a mentor to many young students. After retirement, Barb continued her passion for teaching through a different role leading a team of educators with the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) where they surveyed student performance through nationally recognized assessments and provided feedback to improve student success in the public education system. After relocating to TN, Barb was quick to embrace the change quickly, meeting new friends, joining community clubs, traveling, and volunteering, most notably at the Nashville Symphony. Barb was a servant leader in the Del Webb community and Providence United Methodist Church serving the Care Connection and Widows Groups. Barb was strong, independent, most often referred by friends as a “go getter”. She had a kind and feisty spirit which often became the source of humor and fun memories with family and friends. She advocated for what she believed in and didn’t shy away from things that were hard. She had a way of showing compassion and support even when she wasn’t feeling her best. She was positive and encouraging to others especially her grandchildren who called her “Memaw”. She instilled the importance of family and was never without a cookie cake to celebrate any achievement or holiday. It is fitting that we will always remember Memaw on Pi Day. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from noon until service time at 4 pm in the chapel at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet. A graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Nashville National Cemetery in Madison at 2 pm where she will be laid to rest with her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Misericordia Foundation or the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Arrangements by Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, 2229 N. Mt. Juliet Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122

Barb lived in Rennerdale growing up. She was two years ahead of me in school, but we rode the school bus and activities bus together. She was a leader and a go-getter. I will always remember the fond memories.
