About William (Bill) Foster Greer, 79, of Celina, TX, died peacefully on July 14, 2022, with his loving wife of 55 years, Suzette Greer (76) by his side. Besides his wife, he is also survived by his two children Evonne Keene, Celina, TX and Phillip (Wendy) Greer of Huntertown, IN; his two grandchildren Katelynn Greer, of Toledo, OH and Jacob Greer, of Bryan, OH; his two step-grandchildren Evan and Colin White of Huntertown, IN, and his brother James Greer of Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents William Shin and Sally Marie Greer and his two sisters Barbara and Sally. Bill, or "Rambo" as his wife affectionately called him, was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 13,1943. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Elizabethtown College in Hershey, PA and his MBA from Colorado State University. He bravely served in the Army, as a Green Beret in the Special Forces, including 3 tours in Vietnam achieving the rank of Major. He retired from the military after 20 years and then worked for Houston Light & Power as a Materials Manager for 15 years. Following that retirement, he and his wife opened a business together called Dignity Home Care. After moving to New Haven, Indiana, Bill worked for the City of Fort Wayne as the Director of Purchasing. He had many hobbies including making stained glass, golfing and running ~ in which he proudly completed 5 Marathons. A memorial service will take place at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on August 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
