| About | Gloria June Kuhns, age 73, a beloved resident of North Fayette Township, Oakdale, PA, entered into her eternal rest after a heartbreaking fight with cancer on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Gloria was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 16, 1951, daughter to the late June (Heirendt) and Martin Maderic. She married her devoted husband of 46 years on March 1, 1978, Richard Kuhns, who survives; beloved mother to Brian Kuhns and Stacey (Rick Nolte) Kuhns; dear grandmother to Brianna (Ronnelle) Sharpley, Lucas Kuhns, Mykenzie Kuhns, and Madelyn Nolte; adored great-grandmother to Aubree Sharpley, Nova Sharpley, and Trey Sharpley. Gloria is preceded in death by her brother, the late Mickey Maderic. A graduate from Chartiers Valley High School in 1969, Gloria enlisted in the Army that same year during the Vietnam War. She excelled as a Medical Specialist and was praised for being a kind, patient, and intelligent caretaker. Gloria was fond of helping others and learning about the medical field, being honorably discharged after three years. Gloria loved being a part of her family and never stopped giving back to her tight-knit community. She often spent her time traveling, learning about historical landmarks, and enjoying the long road trips with her family, but making sure to always stop and admire nature and wildlife. Gloria was an avid watcher of the eagle cam, watching the birds outside her home, and loving her beloved cat, Pandy. She was a deep and reflective thinker and was always prepared for any situation or outcome. The family would like to express their appreciation to VITAS Healthcare for their care, support, and compassion. Gloria will be deeply missed, and may she rest in peace. Per Gloria’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
