About	Alka Patel, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on December 6, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 10, 1975, Alka lived 50 years marked by compassion, generosity, and remarkable perseverance, touching countless lives along the way. Throughout her professional life, Alka dedicated herself to public service. She spent the majority of her career serving the United States government, working with both the Department of State and the Department of Defense. In these roles, she was known for her integrity, commitment, and strong work ethic; qualities that reflected not only her career but the way she lived her life. Outside of her career, Alka was a devoted mother and constant source of support for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and commitment to uplifting communities around her. She will be remembered for her warmth and dedication to helping others. She is survived by her three beloved children, Avinash Kopec, Rajan Kopec, and Meera Kopec. Her mother, Kanta Patel; her father, Aroon Patel; her sister, Aparna Linko; her brother-in-law, Bill Linko, and her nephews; Shaun Linko and Dev Linko. A private cremation and memorial service celebrating Alka's life was held on December 10, 2025. The family asks that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation (https://www.komen.org/).
