Velma Bensy Bonomo Igou, 69, passed away peacefully in Somerset, PA on January 3, 2023. Velma is survived by 2 daughters, Rica and Nicole, and 4 grandchildren.

The Bensy's were my neighbors on Carol Drive in Collier Township from the time I was 5 years old. Their home was a meeting place for the entire neighborhood. Many childhood memories were made there. All four sisters were special.

Velma and her sisters were my first girlfriends when I switched to public school. Prior to that all of my friends were boy cousins. Many family memories. We remained close even after I moved to Kentucky but drifted apart in later years. Beautiful almond eyes.
