Age 23, of Pittsburgh, tragically passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Beloved son of Dana Chubarov and Derrick T. Johnson Sr. Adoring father of Mila Johnson and dear brother of Camren Johnson. Loving grandson of Mary Bertram and the late Pepsi Johnson, Colleen Lebak and Marty Chubarov. Dear nephew of Bob (Angel) Chubarov, Darrell Parker, Walter Parker, Phillip Bertram, Bonita Johnson, and a host of family and friends. DJ was an installer for his father’s heating and air conditioning company. He loved basketball, pickleball, playing various video games, hanging out with friends, and riding his motorcycle. DJ was incredibly funny, always making others laugh.
Family and friends are welcome Monday, October 20, 2025, from 2-4 and 6 until time of Funeral Service at 7:30 PM, WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220 (412-563-2800).

PITTSBURGH — A motorcyclist is dead after a late-night crash on a highway in Pittsburgh. According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, the crash happened just before midnight on Tuesday on southbound I-279 near the Hazlett Street Exit. Investigators say the motorcyclist, identified as Derrick Johnson Jr., 23, of Pittsburgh, lost control and overturned his bike before sliding into a Kia Sorento in the right lane. Johnson died at an area hospital.
