My uncle, Jim Johnson, passed away on May 29,1972 as a result of injury's sustained in a motorcycle accident. He graduated from CV in 1970 and furthered his education at the University of Kentucky. During his Summer's, he drove through local neighborhoods ringing a bell to sell Sno-Cones. Children loved him and would greet him by holding up shiny coins for a sno-cone. It was well-known at the local bank that Jim was the one with the "sticky nickels." At the time of his passing, he was the God Father to his niece & nephew Jennifer and Dan. His family keeps his memory ever present by offering sno-cones to fundraise for the Collier Friends of the Panhandle Trail.
Attached is his obituary from the June 1,1972 edition of the Carnegie Signal Item and was given to his family by a close friend of Uncle Jimmy. He would have celebrated his 73rd birthday on August 21, 2025.
