About Craig S. France of Green Cove Springs, FL, formerly of McDonald, PA, passed away on July 15, 2025, after a long illness. Craig was born in Scott Township on July 4, 1963, and graduated from Chartiers Valley High School in 1981. He is the son of Sue France Hankowsky and the late Walter A. France. Craig served four years in the US Air Force as a radio technician for jet fighter aircraft. Upon leaving the service, Craig returned to Pittsburgh and obtained an electronics certificate from Carnegie Technical Institute that led to his life's work that he loved. He began his career in copy machine repair in 1988 and quickly became a valuable asset to ComDoc, now known as Xerox. Over the years, he took on many roles, including team leader, color specialist, and senior field engineer. Craig was the go-to team member for challenging repairs "known for getting the job done when others couldn't." He dedicated over 32 years to Xerox before relocating to Florida, where he continued his career at DEX Imaging. Helping customers and solving their equipment issues brought him genuine joy. His passion for his work and his commitment to others left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. Eventually, Craig moved to Florida to continue working while spending his weekends outfitting his retirement home with his wife of 25 years, Jennifer. Craig brought the same level of attention to detail in everything he did whether it be his yard work, or fixing things around the house. Getting to spend his last five years in Florida was the realization of a dream come true for Craig as he planned his eventual retirement. Craig enjoyed collecting firearms and spent his spare time practicing his marksmanship skills and enjoying the beach, his dogs, and walks in St Augustine with his wife. Craig would also educate himself on subjects of interest (like different methods of making an Old Fashioned cocktail) by researching the history of the subject and often being pulled into researching a tangential subject along the way. Craig also loved cruising and enjoyed researching the ship's design prior to his trips, exploring the activities and bars so he could be an expert reference for others. Craig is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; his mother, Sue; and his brother, Cory (Terri). A private service will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on August 12.
