About Jack Robbins, 75, of Duncanville passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 4, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Russell Clinton Robbins and Larena Hellen Gordon. He had a twin sister Jill along with four other siblings: Sally Ann Palmer, Gordon Palmer, James Robbins, and Susan Morris.
Jack attended the University of Miami where he met Linda and they eventually were married in 1967. Soon after marriage he was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Thailand as an MP before being discharged.
He and Linda settled in West Springfield, MA for several years. He loved to dabble in antiques and did so for some time before accepting a job at Westfield Gage Co. Jack liked to read and was always eager to learn new things. He was an avid distance runner, completing several marathons. Classical music could often be heard playing in the background around his home. Jack was a sharp dresser and could always be found looking his best. In 1970, his son Andrew was born and shortly thereafter in 1973, Candace was born. In 1978, the family relocated to Duncanville, Texas just south of Dallas. Jack took a job at Dresser Industries before switching to the insurance business. He was known to be very good and knowledgeable as an insurance broker.
On April 25, 1981 his wife Linda and son Andy were involved in a car accident. Linda passed away the following day. Later in life he met Joanna Nicodemus and the two were longtime companions, although they never married. Survivors include son, Andrew Thomas Robbins; daughter, Candace Marie Robbins; two grandchildren, Dilan Robbins and Aurelie Robbins.
