Graduation Year Class of 1972
Date of Passing Mar 06, 2025
About On Thursday, March 6, 2025 Robert "Bob" Komosinski, passed away peacefully in his home in Pittsburgh, PA, after bravely battling heart-related medical challenges for over a decade. Despite these difficulties, he lived his life happily, fearlessly, and to the fullest. He is survived by his brother, James Komosinski, and his two nieces, Kaska Barringer (Bill) and Stacia Foreman (Sam), who loved him dearly. They will always remember him for his devotion to family and his constant encouragement to face challenges with bravery and to live life without regrets—principles that they will continue to embrace in his honor. A lifelong resident of the South Hills area, Bob graduated from Chartiers Valley High School and the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he lived in Upper St. Clair and devoted 37 years to the energy sector as a Registered Engineer, working for CONSOL Energy in environmental remediation. He was known for his strong leadership, care, compassion for his team, and an exceptional work ethic. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending his time traveling for recreation and indulging in his passion for fishing. He loved spending days, if not weeks, on his boat on Lake Erie. Bob is fondly remembered for his enthusiasm for the sport, often inviting his nephews-in-law to join him on fishing trips. He would jokingly warn them, "If you're not willing to work while on my boat, you'll need to get in the water to swim home" with them knowing full well that he meant it seriously. Another one of his passions was vintage cars, both collecting them and working on them in his garage. He also enjoyed attending several of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix races as well as other professional sports, including the Pirates, Steelers, Penguins, and Pitt Panthers. He also enjoyed traveling for major sporting events like the NFL draft, Super Bowls, college bowl games, the Kentucky Derby, among others. When he was in town, he enjoyed hanging out with friends and watching sports at the local sports bar. He also leaves behind his grandniece, Althea Barringer, and his grandnephew, James Barringer, who were able to enjoy the time he was able to spend with them. Although the time was short, he recalls meeting them for the first time as one of the most memorable experiences of his life. Bob was predeceased by his parents Joseph Komosinski and Helen (Zytka) Komosinski. He is also survived by numerous cousins and great cousins.
