| About | It's with a heavy heart I share the passing of David L. Barton "Sweet", July 2nd, 2024. Father to David and Heather Barton, and Jimmy Comley (family). Preceded in death by parents Donald L. Barton and Myrtle M. (Cole) Barton. Brother to Donald (Bonnie) Barton and John (DeAnna) Barton. Life-long friends with Gary (Debbie) Meehan. Loved by his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Dave retired from General Motors after 25 plus years of dedicated service. Starting his career with GM at the Carnegie plant, when the company moved Dave moved along to the West Mifflin, PA plant, and his last move to Austintown / Lordstown, OH plant. Dave "Sweet" put down roots retiring from the GM Austintown / Lordstown, OH plant. Meeting friends and making family along the way. Dave loved his Steelers and boasted about them whenever he could. He was an avid pool player, playing for leagues in PA and OH, not to mention his love for darts along the way. Dave "Sweet" will be missed by all who knew and loved him, for his kind, fun-loving heart and quick wit. IN THE WORDS OF DAVE "GIDDY UP" until we meet again, We Love You!
