About	STEPHEN McGALLA, III CV teacher On Tuesday, December 22, 2020 Stephen McGalla, III passed away peacefully at the age of 77 from complications of a stroke and pneumonia. Mr. McGalla was raised in Rowes Run, PA as one of seven siblings. After attending Redstone High School Mr. McGalla earned a degree in education from California U of PA becoming the first member of his family to earn a college degree. He earned a Master's of Science in Biology and finished his teaching career by proudly instructing at his Alma Mater. Outside of education Mr. McGalla had a passion for soccer and opera. He spent many years officiating at the PIAA level, coaching Brashear HS to a city league title, and playing well into his 50's for the Buffalo Chips, a team he founded. Additionally he derived great joy serving as a supernumerary with the Pittsburgh Opera. Mr. McGalla taught thousands of children over his 35 + year teaching career and would hope along the way he left the world a better place. He is survived by his four children, Stephen (Susan) McGalla, Roxanne McGalla, Mark (Nicole) McGalla, and Clayton (Connie) McGalla; his grandchildren, Dominic and Liliana, Kai and Aneri, Evan, Ian, Judah, Jeremiah, Mercy and Boaz; his great-grandchildren, Landon, Liam, Garrett, Henry; and his brother, Joseph McGalla; former wife, Anna McGalla. Stephen was preceded in death by five siblings and parents, Stephen and Ann McGalla, Jr. Due to COVID-19, a private service and interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsburgh Opera.
